You have a few options available but the following are simple examples of how we could cater for you and your group.
                1. If you would like me as your guide on each charter, we can shorten the charter durations, so that I can take 2, 3 or 4 different groups of fishers in one day-which also helps cater for early starters and late risers. Or, if more than one day is available 2 or 3 half day charters each day are possible. Discounts are available for larger groups.
                2. If everyone would like to fish at one time, with advance notice, other independent operators and guides can be arranged by us to be on the Daintree River, either for half day or full day charters. This can be a bit more expensive, depending on your group size, and whether some guides travel from Cairns or Port Douglas for the day.
As we are flexible with our itinerary, almost anything can be organised once we know your expectations.
Yes, that’s a combination charter! My vessels can get right up some of the smaller creeks of the Daintree, which most other larger boats have trouble entering. So you can see the river from the estuary to the fresher reaches, explore the quieter and secretive creeks, and have a fish at the optimum tide times.

We cannot secure a day for you if you won’t be content with fishing in the Daintree River as an alternative. A deposit will be required in advance if you would like to secure your date.
If you wish only to fish outside the Daintree River, the best option would be to advise us of the dates you have available whilst in the region, and closer to those dates we will have a fairly good indication of the weather conditions and can advise you if the charter can go ahead.
Another option is to wait until you arrive in the region, and if the weather is calm, call us then. The problem with this last option is that we may be booked fully, and you may miss out completely.
No, we need you to self drive or arrange other transport to the Daintree River, which is approx 45 minutes drive north of Port Douglas, or 45 minutes south of Cape Tribulation.
Many people hire a car for the day, charter us for half a day, then continue onto Cape Tribulation, or visit the Daintree Village and Mossman Gorge, making it well worth the drive.

You certainly will if you choose a specialised charter. For families and groups of 4 or more people at one time, we will not book anyone else on with you.

There isn’t a toilet on my vessels, but public toilets are available along the Daintree River, or I can recommend another option. Many female fishers, some heavily pregnant, venture out with us and near all of them have been comfortable with the toilet arrangements.
You are welcome to. I also have a large range of outfits, usually already rigged for the fishing conditions of the time. Fly fishers tend to bring their preferred outfit, but I have fly rods available for those who choose to leave theirs home.

I am always willing to show you a crocodile. Because my charters tend to leave the main tourism area of the Daintree River, wildlife like crocs tends to be easier to find. The best time of year to see crocodiles lazing on the bank is during the Post-wet/winter period, on low tides and in sunny weather.  So if you are interested, all you have to do is ask me to spot one for you!
Yes, as any keen fisher knows, that’s fishing! Though, if my advice was listened to and applied, you should have caught at least one while you were on the charter. Skill and luck is also a large factor in the catch rate.

You can, but you need to work hard. Barramundi tend to hibernate once the water cools down, which usually occurs around June (though it could occur earlier). Their appetite seems to be nonexistent during this time, so a combination of luck, individual fisher’s skill and tickling them on the nose with live bait could result in a hook up.
Around September the water in the Daintree starts to warm up, so the barra start becoming steadily more active over the next months.

Yes! The most successful fishers on my charters, tend to be novices and/or those that follow my advice. The Daintree River can be difficult to fish, but with my knowledge and skill, it is a very, very rare charter on which not one fish was caught.
