Weather: The weather systems that can occur in this period can be dramatically beautiful and are vitally important not just to the spawning fish, prawn and crab species, but for the Daintree rainforest and region. Daytime temperatures can vary between 24- 36 C. If it is raining it is likely to be quite heavy. In clear weather the humidity is very high (80-97%), increasing the ambient temperature considerably.
As the official wet can occur at any time from December to March the fishing can be hard to predict. It is not uncommon for 4- 5 inches (100-125mm) of rain to fall in a 24 hr period, but whether this will influence the fishing depends on how much rain has already occurred in the Daintree area. Once again Jamie or Edie can advise you on what to expect at the time, taking into account the current weather situation.
Wet weather gear is provided by Jamie, though in clear weather, the sun can be quite intense, so sun protection is vital.
